BLOOM: Scent & Yin
7th June 2025: 3-5pm @ The Wild Box
The second in this series of Scent & Yin workshops, BLOOM, is centred around what is undeniably one of most beautiful and nuanced materials in perfumery: the rose. In this immersive sensory experience we will delve into all facets of the rose: its historical and cultural role in ancient civilisations, the harvesting process, its olfactory profile, therapeutic benefits and finally, how rose is used in perfumery. You will have the opportunity to sample different varieties of rose absolute and a refined selection of the most stunning rose perfumes in production, each of which showcase the beauty of this flower in a unique and imaginative way. Participants will be invited to share their own olfactory insights; the people, places and memories that these fragrances recall, creating an opportunity for interaction and connection.
The workshop will lead into a Yin practice revolving around heart openers, where we will explore the effects of incorporating rose oil, a symbol of love and joy, into our experience of yoga. Come away feeling uplifted and inspired.

SLOW: Yin & Yoga Nidra
15th March 2025: 3-5pm @ The Wild Box
Slowing down isn’t a luxury; it’s essential to creating a life of balance in a society that prioritises action over pause. Come back to yourself in this two hour Yin & Yoga Nidra immersion, unravelling layers of tension through a series of gentle shapes and guided rest.
Our Yin sequence will be centred around the Wood Element, associated with Springtime, stimulating the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, when our Wood energy is out of balance we may experience frustration, indecision or a sense of feeling stuck. By bringing harmony to this element, we can help cultivate clarity and insight, moving forwards feeling creatively inspired and with renewed purpose.
The session will conclude with a soothing Yoga Nidra practice, where you will be gently guided through a body scan and visualisation to release tension and encourage deep rest. This final stage allows the practice’s benefits to be fully integrated, leaving you feeling refreshed and re-energised.
To enhance your sensory experience, a carefully selected blend of essential oils aligned with the Wood element will be diffused throughout the session.
Whether you seek restoration, clarity or simply space to feel and breathe, Slow offers a beautiful opportunity to unwind and reset as we transition into a new season. Step away from the noise, sink into stillness and give yourself the gift of slowing down.
GROUND: Scent & Yin
25th January 2025: 3-5pm @ The Wild Box
Explore the connection between olfaction and well-being in a new series of immersive, sensory workshops. The first, GROUND, is centred around a grounding essential oil: its origins, olfactory profile and therapeutic uses. We then explore the use of this material in perfumery, sampling a variety of beautiful fragrance compositions, each highlighting its unique character to different effect. Finally we ease into a grounding Yin practice to soothe and restore, observing how the use of scent in our yoga practice can enhance and deepen our experience.
The olfactory system is directly linked to the limbic system, the brain's centre for emotion and memory, making scents a powerful tool for evoking feelings and nostalgia. This synergy can promote relaxation, reduce stress and elevate mood, allowing us to access deeper states of mindfulness and self-reflection. As we move through poses, the intentional use of scent creates a multi-sensory environment that encourages holistic well-being, inviting a more profound connection between body and mind.

Rest & Replenish
6th January 2024: 2-4pm @ The Wild Box
Embrace the start of the New Year by slowing down and re-connecting with your peaceful centre following the Christmas festivities. Join Sophie at The Wild Box to immerse yourself in a deeply relaxing Yin & Yoga Nidra practice centred around the Water element, associated with Wintertime.
In this extended session you will be guided through a carefully crafted Yin sequence stimulating the Kidney and Urinary Bladder meridians, nourishing and supporting your Water energy which is easily tipped out of balance at this time of year. When Water energy is weak we may experience feelings of fear and anxiety: of the unknown, of failure, or a general sense of insecurity. By strengthening this element we can move towards developing an inherent trust and inner-wisdom to navigate life’s challenges with flexibility and resilience, greeting whatever comes our way with a renewed sense of courage and purpose.
The session will conclude with a soothing Yoga Nidra practice, where you will feel all tension gently melting away as you are guided through a relaxing body scan and visualisation, allowing the restful and replenishing effects of this extended practice to be fully absorbed.
A mindfully selected combination of essential oils connected to the Water element will be diffused throughout the practice to support a fully immersive experience.
Yin & Yoga Nidra for Autumn
24th September 2023: 2-4pm @ The Wild Box
Align your practice with the seasons, easing into Autumn with a deeply restful Yin & Yoga Nidra centred around balancing and harmonising the season’s transformative energy. Autumn is associated with the Metal element in Traditional Chinese Medicine, which embodies qualities of clarity, introspection and letting go, just as leaves begin to change and are gently released from their branches.
In this Yin and Yoga Nidra session we will deepen our connection to the Metal element, reflecting on releasing anything that no longer serves us and nourishing the Lung and Large Intestine organs, also associated with Autumn, through a carefully crafted sequence of poses targeting their corresponding meridians (energy channels that run throughout the body). The Lung meridian governs the breath and is connected to our ability to let go of grief and sadness, whilst the Large Intestine meridian is responsible for releasing physical and emotional tension.
The session will end with a relaxing Yoga Nidra, centred around release, acceptance and creating space for new possibilities, allowing the restorative effects of this extended practice to be fully absorbed.
