Yinspiration

If you’re ever feeling in a creative slump, are stuck for ideas or if the answer to a question or predicament that you’ve been pondering just isn’t presenting itself, try stepping onto your mat for a yin practice. Due to the meditative nature of yin yoga, you may find that as you access a sense of stillness physically, mental stillness follows. Space is gradually created for new thoughts and ideas to emerge and flow with a greater degree of effortless ease and freedom. A great deal of my inspiration, ranging from class sequencing to blog post  and workshop ideas comes to me during my daily yin practice. Allowing ourselves to slow down and pause can really do wonders for alleviating mental clutter and unblocking areas or unhelpful thought patterns in which we find ourselves getting stuck.

So when you’re next experiencing a creative rut or need a solution to a challenge you’re facing, try taking a few of your favourite poses and see what unfolds for you.
